Faux Marbling Techniques(Faux Skyros)
|
Tips Surfaces - should be cleaned, primed and sealed prior to painting. Nature - the best teacher. If possible have a real piece of marble or at least a picture to guide and inspire you. Layers - provide depth and realism. |

Combine: Red Oxide Yellow White Burnt Umber |

Combine: Raw Sienna White |
Combine: Violet Black |
Glaze: Tinted White | |

Step 1 Begin with applying a white base coat - let dry then apply glaze. Into wet glaze apply color A as background color. Stipple and Soften with badger brush then stipple with stipple brush. |

Step 2 Apply color C with a sponge over 50% of color A then stipple with a stipple brush. Paint a few veins with color A then soften with a badger brush. |

|
Step 3 Paint in vein formations using color D. |
|
|
Step 4 Lightly sponge in color C then stipple and soften with badger brush. Soften first across the veins then with the veins. Continue painting in more veins with color D. |

Step 5 Seal with clear sealer and let Dry. Brush over entire area with color E. Remove some color and soften the area. |
